Zach Wainwright
Founder & CEO
Throughout his prestigious investment career, he consistently observed that taxable clients were not receiving the level of attention necessary to maximize the potential of their public equity portfolios and saw unnecessary tax drag on their investments as a result.
Zach’s passion for tax-efficient investing began as an Equity Analyst at Wellington Management and was honed as a Manager at a large single-family office based in Houston. His passion for creative financial solutions began in 2011 while working at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was charged with unwinding complex non-core assets and multi-asset derivative structuring for the bank.
Prior to Twin Oak, Zach advised large single-family offices on investment opportunities including how to narrow the gap between pre-tax and post-tax investment returns. He has invested billions of dollars on behalf of clients of all sizes in both the taxable and non-taxable world across public and private markets.
Zach holds a Master’s Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with High Distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is an active member of the Boston community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for both the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston (CJP) and The Vilna, Boston’s Center for Downtown Jewish Culture.
Greg Stoner
Co-Founder & Managing Director
Greg is a Managing Director at Twin Oak ETF Company focused on portfolio management and building institutional caliber investment solutions. Greg joined Twin Oak as employee number one after an accomplished career in both finance and the military.
Prior to Twin Oak, Greg was a Manager at PwC, where he advised Fortune 50 firms on capital allocation and M&A strategy. Greg got his start in the investment industry as a Biotech Analyst at Adage Capital Management and then served as the Director of Research of Scion Asset Management, an investment firm founded by Dr. Michael Burry.
Greg spent nine years in the U.S. Army, serving as an Aviation Officer and Pilot leading complex precision aviation operations.
Greg received a Master of Business Administration Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
John Downing
Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Downing is the Chief Investment Officer at Twin Oak and leads investment strategy development focused on portfolio construction and building institutional caliber investment solutions. Mr. Downing joined Twin Oak as a Senior Advisor after an accomplished career in the ETF and hedge fund industry before joining Twin Oak full-time.
Prior to Twin Oak, Mr. Downing was Managing director and Portfolio Manager at Simplify where he launched the first QIS ETF (QIS). Mr. Downing was co-founder and CIO of RDC Capital Partners® from 2015-2020.
Prior to RDC, Mr. Downing was a Portfolio Manager and part of the Founding Team at Convexity Capital Management (CCM) for 10 years and an analyst in the Emerging Markets Fixed Income group for Harvard Management Company (HMC) for 7 years.
Mr. Downing earned a BA in Economic Theory and a BA in Political Science, both from Assumption College.
Harvey Felman
Head of Business Development
Harvey Felman is a senior investment and distribution executive with more than 30 years of experience building and scaling institutional investment platforms across hedge funds, fixed income, emerging markets, and alternative assets. He has a proven track record of raising institutional capital, developing distribution strategies, and partnering closely with investment teams to drive long-term asset growth. Harvey focuses his efforts on leading institutional fundraising, driving distribution strategy, and supporting AUM growth for the firm’s actively managed ETF platform.
Prior to Twin Oak, Mr. Felman served as Partner and Head of Business Development at The Rohatyn Group, where he led global fundraising and investor relations across hedge funds, emerging markets credit, and real assets. Earlier in his career, Mr. Felman was President and Managing Partner of Argentem Creek Partners, where he oversaw investor relations, business development, and firm strategy for an emerging markets credit specialist. He also co-founded Frontlight Capital, A global macro hedge fund, playing a central role in fund raising, product development, portfolio communication, and investor engagement. Mr. Felman spent over two decades at J.P. Morgan, most recently as Head of U.S. Emerging Markets Fixed Income Sales. In that role, he led a national sales team, served on the Global Emerging Markets Management Team, and built deep relationships with pensions, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, insurers, and consultants across North America.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston College.
Peter van Amson
Chief Risk Advisor
Pete is active as an instructor, most recently having taught courses in Financial Risk Management and Accounting at Boston College and Cape Cod Community College, respectively.
Pete is active in a number of local charities focused on providing food assistance.
James Lough
Principal
James is a Principal at Twin Oak ETF Company, focused on partnerships. He leads investor outreach, project-manages ETF launches, and supports the firm's institutional partnerships.
Prior to Twin Oak, James was a Business Development Director at Pine Creek, a multi-family office, where he ran renewable energy infrastructure origination and investment. He independently led renewable natural gas deals across the United States. Earlier, he worked in business development at Flagship Pioneering, a venture capital firm building biotech and sustainability companies.
James served over seven years in the U.S. Army as an Apache helicopter pilot, including a deployment to Iraq and later leading aviation operations planning across Europe.
James holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a B.S. in Economics and Chinese from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Brian McKenzie
Chief Compliance Officer
Brian has been active in the investment compliance industry since 2005. Prior to joining PINE, he was the Head of Portfolio Surveillance and Reporting at Janus Henderson Investors, where he managed regulatory filings, client reporting, trade surveillance and led a team that implemented compliance programs for over sixty global product launches, including registered mutual funds, ETFs, and separately managed portfolios. He began his compliance career at Brown Brothers Harriman in Boston, MA, where he was Vice President and Head of Portfolio Compliance. Brian earned his B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Compliance and Ethics Program in the Master of Science in Legal Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder Law School.
In his spare time, Brian enjoys exploring the Colorado backcountry on his snowboard or mountain bike. He resides in Centennial with his wife and two daughters.
Morgan Valentish
Deputy Chief Compliance Officer
Morgan has been active in the industry since 2022. She joined PINE in 2024, serving as a compliance officer in a generalist capacity in her prior role. Morgan has experience in many facets of compliance management, including compliance testing, auditing, portfolio management compliance, employee oversight, regulatory filings, ISDA negotiation, marketing review, training, risk mitigation, policy creation, and more. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management, with minors in Economics and Business Administration from Western Colorado University. In addition, she holds a Master of Arts Degree in Health Education and a Juris Doctorate from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
In her free time, Morgan enjoys running, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, outdoor activities in general, hanging out with her pug Richie.
Hazel San Pedro
Executive Assistant
Hazel San Pedro is an experienced leader and operational strategist dedicated to driving excellence in executive support, stakeholder management, and organizational efficiency. Her operational experience spans diverse environments and responsibilities, with her most extensive and multifaceted exposure gained at Ernst & Young, where she served as both an Executive Assistant and Team Lead. In these roles, she supported senior leadership, mentored high-performing teams, and implemented process improvements aligned with the rigorous quality standards of the financial services sector.
Throughout her career, Hazel has supported senior executives and regional teams across diverse industries, managing complex executive operations, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional initiatives. Her experience includes facilitating leadership and board-level engagements, coordinating international travel and high-stakes calendars, driving process improvements, planning and executing virtual, in-person, and hybrid events, supporting regional marketing initiatives, and managing relocation and networking programs for global teams. She has also contributed to market research, product development, and other strategic projects, demonstrating her ability to move seamlessly between day-to-day execution and broader organizational priorities.
With a background in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines, Hazel combines technical proficiency with strong operational and administrative expertise. Her professional certifications in management coaching, innovation, and digital strategy further strengthen her ability to approach challenges with a modern, structured, and forward-thinking perspective. She brings a distinctive combination of executive support expertise, operational discipline, technology fluency, and strategic problem-solving—enabling leaders and organizations to operate with greater clarity, efficiency, and impact.

Clint Liebenberg
Operations Advisor
Clint Liebenberg is a former Partner and US COO at Partners Capital Investment Group, where he spent nearly two decades building and scaling the firm’s operational infrastructure to support growth from $1 billion to over $55 billion in assets under management. He led global teams of approximately 95 professionals and oversaw operations for more than 75 investment vehicles across multiple asset classes and currencies, consistently delivering strategic initiatives on time and within budget while improving efficiency, data integrity, and risk management.
Clint has deep expertise spanning operational strategy, compliance, cybersecurity, technology, and organizational development. He has a proven track record of optimizing processes, strengthening governance, and leading complex, multi-million-dollar initiatives that enhance performance and scalability. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Liberty Mutual, Goldman Sachs, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and KPMG.
He holds an MBA from the Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management and a Postgraduate Diploma and Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of Cape Town. Clint also serves as an Advisory Board member and volunteer at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and is passionate about mentoring, teamwork, and giving back to his community.
Daniel Farb
Senior Advisor
Mr. Farb is the President of Mill Pond Capital. He was formerly a Partner at Highfields Capital Management, a Boston-based investment firm, where he led investments in the Energy, Technology, Consumer and Business Services sectors. Prior to Highfields, Mr. Farb was an analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in the Mergers and Acquisitions and Principal Investment Groups.
Mr. Farb is a graduate of Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar and of McGill University, in Montreal Canada.
Mr. Farb formerly served as a Trustee of Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, and as a Board Member of MEG Energy (TSX MEG) and Pharmacyte Biothech (PMCB).
He currently serves as a Trustee of the Belmont Hill School.
Scott Pomfret
Compliance Advisor
Scott Pomfret is the founder of Regulatory Counsel LLC, a law firm advising private funds and the vendors that serve them concerning regulatory, legal, and business issues. Before that, Scott was Regulatory Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Highfields Capital Management, where he was responsible for monitoring and ensuring the firm’s compliance with the rules and regulations of the SEC, CFTC, NFA, Department of Labor, and other domestic and foreign regulators. Scott joined Highfields from PwC’s Financial Services Regulatory Practice, and previously served as a branch chief in the Division of Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission. Prior to joining the SEC, Scott was a litigation associate at Ropes & Gray LLP, where his practice focused on government enforcement matters. Scott is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and clerked for the Honorable Norman Stahl, U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
